how often? I have enough compost that I could do it weekly until the end of summer if I wanted, but after a certain point, is it actually better still? thanks,

Re: compost tea?
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 7:58 PMYou can do the tea as often as you like. If you don't mind keeping a batch always brewing, then watering with it would just be fine. I would only do a foliar spray every couple of weeks. Keep in mind that a foliar spray is most effective in the early hours when the stoma are opened up just after dawn.
When you brew a compost tea, it is most effective between 24 and 48 hours after the brew is started. After that, it is ok to water with, but foliar really needs the fresh goods. I take it you got an air bubbler jah?

Re: compost tea?
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 8:32 PMYup, I have an air bubbler... Unfortunately the garage (where I'm allowed to do it, they call my tea the Frankenstein concotion) is cram packed and the compost has just been turned... so maybe I'll start an on going batch in 2 weeks... when things have settled.
do you know anything about growing sweet potatoes or yams? I have some sitting in the pantry, waiting for them to start to grow... I figure they'll be ready to go in the ground about as soon as the rest of my stuff is done.
many thanks
